Lead Electro-Optical Systems Developer

In this challenging role, you will lead the development of electro-optical systems from concept to delivery. Your expertise in optronics and electro-optical technologies will be pivotal in shaping the future of Defence innovation.
Main Responsibilities- Electro-Optical Design Leadership: Drive electro-optical design studies, architecture definition, technology evaluations, and system performance assessments to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
- System Requirements Definition: Develop high-level system requirements and comprehensive subsystem specifications to ensure effective system integration.
- Modelling & Simulation: Create models and simulations to validate system performance under real-world conditions, enhancing the reliability and effectiveness of our Defence solutions.
- Technology Integration: Assess technologies across optics, sensors, electronics, and mechanical subsystems, integrating them effectively to achieve optimal system performance.
- Technical Collaboration: Work closely with international experts and suppliers to ensure robust and innovative system designs that meet Defence requirements.
- Design Reviews & Compliance: Lead design reviews, manage technical documentation, and oversee compliance assessments to ensure adherence to Defence standards.
- Risk Management: Participate in risk analysis, cost estimation, and strategic planning for system production and deployment, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Australian Citizenship: Essential due to Defence security requirements.
- Security Clearance: BASELINE clearance essential, NV1 eligibility required.
To succeed in this role, you must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optics, Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline, and have a minimum 5 years' experience in optronic or electro-optical systems. As a highly motivated engineer passionate about optronics, you will collaborate with international experts, leading technical integration activities and driving innovative Defence solutions.
