Project Governance & Controls Manager Department: DevelopmentEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: Melbourne Description An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cubico Sustainable Investments in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne as a Project Governance and Controls Manager.
Reporting to the Head of Project Management Office & Procurement, this position will provide project management support to a portfolio of projects from the development gate, through development, pre-construction and construction activities of a portfolio of renewable energy projects in Australia.Key Responsibilities Manage the planning, implementation, tracking, and analysis of project(s) and portfolio from the development gate (early development) through to start of construction.Responsible for Project compliance to corporate requirements across Project Governance, Risk Management, Change Management, and budget/accounting practises.Ensure appropriate project governance processes are embedded within each project.Establish, monitor and coordinate project reporting timelines, structures and platformsCo-ordinate cross functional teams from a range of specialties in Australia and internationally in an environment that engenders high levels of motivation and performanceMonitor and Identify unresolved or critical issues that arise during the project's implementation and propose corrective actions to avoid delays or additional costsCommunicate with stakeholders regularly to keep them informed about a project's progress, milestones, and any issues that arise.Provide regular project and portfolio reporting to management in Australia and LondonSupporting the Head of PMO & Procurement, responsible for:Corporate compliance across the Australian Business in:Project Governance (Reporting, Investment Gates etc.),Country Risk Management (Country Risk Registers etc.),Information management (Document Management strategy, External File sharing etc.)Other as required.Good practise Project Management across the Australian business through development and implementation of Project Management initiatives:Project Planning (Schedule guidance templates)Project Cost estimating/Budgeting guidelines and templates,Project Risk management tools and templatesStakeholder management tools and templatesOther etc Delivery of specific project scope across the portfolio of projects.
Key Stakeholders: Head of PMO & ProcurementProject Managers, Development ManagersOther Australian functional departments; Development, Technical , O&E, Finance, Legal, and Construction.Australia Country HeadGlobal Technical, Investment & Strategy, and Growth teams.External stakeholders Skills, Knowledge and Expertise The successful candidate will need to possess: Proven project/portfolio experience of at least 3 years in a Project Controls or PMO role, and preferably within a capital project environment.Excellent communications skills: written and oralOutstanding team management capabilities, across functions and levels of seniority and third party service providersExcellent Problem Solving ability in a Capital Project EnvironmentTertiary qualifications, with Project Management Qualification desirable
