Newmont APAC Operations are located in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, New South Wales and Papua New Guinea, with roles in operations, projects, corporate support and exploration. APAC Business Unit Support is provided from our offices in Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne.
Who we're looking for
Reporting to the Director, Commercial Risk and Assurance, the newly created position of Specialist, Assurance and Compliance will manage a comprehensive risk assurance program aligned to Newmont's Risk Management Strategy and System.
The primary purpose of the role will be to drive process and system compliance across relevant regulations, policies, standards, and procedures across the Commercial function which includes supply chain, sales& marketing, and transportation& logistics. The role will support the optimization of Newmont's Risk Management System (RMS) which includes the enhancement of our control performance, support audit activities and refine and execute Management Action Plans.
**The ideal applicant will also have**:

- Undergraduate Degree in Risk Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, IT and/or Business Administration
- Previous experience in large-scale mining operations and global end-to-end supply chain
- Knowledge of risk management principles and systems including process control techniques (i.e root cause analysis)
- Ability to confidently influence stakeholders including strategic leadership and cross-functional teams
- Proficient skills in SAP and Ariba and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
