**Who are we?**
When you join Water Corporation, you play an important role for the people of WA. Our services are essential for life - everyday, millions of Western Australians rely on us to deliver and manage water across our state.
If you're driven to make a meaningful contribution, you've come to the right place.
**Drive resilience. Influence leadership. Shape the future of Emergency Management.**
Are you ready to take your expertise in Incident Management to the next level?
We are seeking a highly skilled **Corporate Incident Management Specialist** to play a pivotal role in how we respond to and prepare for incidents and emergencies across the state.
This is your opportunity to lead from the front, representing Water Corporation in the Emergency Management community, while building resilience and maturity in our processes.
**If you love performing under pressure, this role may be for you.**
When an incident arises, you will step in as the trusted advisor, working closely with the Incident Manager to ensure smooth execution.
As our representative, you will work alongside agencies like DFES during critical situations such as cyclones, ensuring our presence is well-respected and impactful.
When the storm passes, your focus will shift to building our future capabilities.
You will represent the business in Emergency Management forums and foster collaboration with external agencies.
You will advise Senior Executives and our CEO on emergency processes, instilling confidence at all levels.
Build organisational maturity in incident management, ensuring systems like AIIMS are applied in a contemporary and effective setting.
Develop and review State Emergency Policies and Plans, aligning them with agency processes.
Travel across the state to deliver training and exercising and engage with teams, ensuring a consistent and robust approach to emergency readiness.
Be part of and on-call roster (flexible, every 4 weeks) and support overtime requirements when critical incidents occur.
**In a nutshell you will**:
- ** Assess and Improve**: Evaluate current incident management processes and introduce improvements to keep us at the forefront of industry practises.
- ** Shape Policy**:Engage with state arrangements and hazard plans, ensuring alignment and innovation in emergency management strategies.
- ** Train and Evolve**: Deliver state-wide training programs during the quieter months (April-November), ensuring our teams are prepared for any scenario.
**A little bit about you.**
If you're seeking a standard 9-to-5 routine, this role might not be for you. Here, every day is unique, and that's what makes it so exciting
There is no such thing as a "typical day" here, and that is what makes it exciting
You will need to be prepared for the unexpected, embrace unplanned work, and thrive in a dynamic environment where flexibility is key. Being adaptable and calm under pressure is essential
This isn't just a job, it's an opportunity to be part of a high-energy small close-knit team that really comes alive when things get moving. We take the importance of incident management seriously but also enjoy working in a light-hearted, fun environment. Work for a manager who will support and encourage developmental opportunities that you wish to embark on.
There is a real buzz when it all kicks off, and you will play a critical role in contributing to shaping how we operate, finding ways to do things differently and better, and helping the team towards what "good" looks like.
We need someone who thrives on variety. You never know what the day will bring, so being adaptable and calm under pressure is essential
You are very strategic-minded and will think ahead, contribute to long-term growth, and help us evolve into a more mature and capable incident management team.
To succeed in this role, you will need in-depth knowledge of state arrangements for Emergency Management and the AIIMS system.
You will have strong experience in and demonstrated advanced knowledge of Incident Management theory, practise, policy, and procedure. Along with the ability to advise, guide, and influence decision-making at all levels.
You will also have substantial experience in the management and/or operation of infrastructure, business systems, assets, or processes in a multi-functional large-scale organisation.
Exceptional skills in engaging with communities, Senior Leaders, and External Stakeholders.
A flexible approach to travel and the ability to deliver training programs across the state.
**_ **A valid WA Driver's License will be required for the role._**
The first few months will be you learning the ropes of Water Corporation, our people, and the unique challenges we face.
From there, you will 'saddle up' helping to shape how we operate and how we're represented across the state.
**Job is right up your alley
