The Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Sport) portfolio leads, manages and coordinates projects where sport or sporting partnerships are identified as an advantageous vehicle to deliver the goals and priorities of the institution. Working collaboratively across the whole-of-institution and with external stakeholders.
As the Sport Project Coordinator for the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Sport), you will play a critical role developing, managing, and delivering projects in alignment with the ECU Sport Framework, which outlines a strategic approach to sport delivery and engagement in support of the University's mission. This role also plays a key part in enhancing the student experience through initiatives offered by ECU Sport and Fitness and the Elite Athlete Program (EAP), facilitated by Student Life.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University's values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry Personal Excellence and Courage.
**What you'll do**:
Develop and facilitate informal sport access and awareness activities on university campuses.
Lead and manage ECU sport clubs to ensure an excellent student experience and good governance while supporting ECU Sport and Fitness staff that facilitate student participation in key annual sporting competitions.
Develop, support and educate students and staff seeking to engage in active commuter activities to campuses or informal sport meet-up groups (e.g. runners) with consideration for the ECU City Campus.
Where assigned, support on campus social sports delivered by ECU Sport and Fitness (e.g. free student sport) and future social sport or community sport engagement initiatives for students and staff.
Support the evaluation and continuous improvement of sport programs delivered by ECU, submission to Pride in Sport Index, record-keeping of participation in university sporting competitions and the generation of an annual sports report.
Content creation, ECU Sport webpage and in-person promotion of sport activities, including the organisation of an Annual Sports Award Night to recognise sporting and sport-related achievements at ECU.
Support Student Life with delivery of the Elite Athlete Program, including mentorship program and "Play Well aligned education sessions and other duties as directed by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Sport).
**Key Capabilities**:
Qualifications Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline OR equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation.
Experience or ability to work within and external to sport by engaging with community, encouraging participation in events or fundraisers and stakeholder engagement and collaboration. Additional experience in sport club governance is desirable.
Knowledge, experience or demonstrated commitment to creating inclusive sporting clubs or environments.
Flexibility and Adaptability to Changing Environments Ability to understand and interpret the internal and external forces affecting the job and ECU. Includes the identification of new developments, trends, technologies etc. and the capability to plan and respond accordingly to these factors within the context of the position and strategic direction of ECU.
Collaboration Collaborate with other work units within ECU as internal customers, and treated with quality customer service as would external customers. Marketing products, services and outcomes of the work unit to those within the internal environment.

Project Management Developing and managing projects in response to organisational needs. Involves managing each phase of the project; identifying and resolving issues; sourcing and managing appropriate resources; managing risks; maintaining progress and achieving desired outcomes.
Technology Tools; Digital and Computer Literacy To be competent with computing and digital technology, electronic devices and programs/software used routinely in the particular technical, professional or administrative role or across the university to increase productivity
Benefits & Remuneration
This full-time fixed-term contract position attracts remuneration of $92,087 to $99,353 per annum plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
