**POSITION DESCRIPTION - **Neighbourhood Centres Operations Support

Officer

**Purpose**

The Neighbourhood Centres offer a place that create an opportunity for our community to meet,

socialise and connect. They are inclusive hubs of activity in the City of Marion providing programs

and services for all ages and levels of ability.

The position will provide administrative and business support to ensure effective and efficient daily

operations of Centres. This will include rostering support and coordination of building maintenance

and providing positive customer experience.

As an ongoing commitment to the organisation you will be responsible for delivering the best

service to our community and improving residents' quality of life; continuously, smartly and

efficiently in the scope of your daily work.

**Key Outcomes**
- To deliver quality customer experience, in order to implement community based programs

and venue hire that meet identified needs and build community capacity.
- In conjunction with Coordinator Customer Experience and Operations, develop processes

and guidelines for service wide rostering.
- Prepare and manage Neighbourhood Centre wide rosters within established guidelines.
- Monitor leave calendar and allocation of backfill hours.
- Assist in the oversight of the physical condition and security of Centre facilities and ensure

regular maintenance is completed.
- Support systems improvement across Neighbourhood Centres.
- Provide general customer service as part of the Neighbourhood Centres team which

includes working on the reception desk, answering telephones to assist customers

accessing Centre services, taking bookings and handling cash.
- Support the development and implementation of policies, practices and procedures relevant

to the role.
- Be an active member of the Neighbourhood Centres Team and be available to support the

wider team as deemed necessary.
- Comply with existing Work, Health and Safety legislation and regulation obligations and
- Embrace ethical and moral behavior and report any suspected instances of fraud and/or

corruption in accordance with Fraud and Corruption Management and the Code of Conduct.
- All other duties as required.

**Essential Requirements**
- Australian residency.
- Advanced communication skills both written and verbal.

- Knowledge of the roles and functions of Local Government.
- Efficient and effective customer service and engagement skills.
- Sound organisational and time management skills and the ability to be flexible.
- Experience working with systems, driven by process and data.
- High level of proficiency in information technology, including online portals, online training

platforms and Microsoft Office.
- High level of verbal and written skills.

- Knowledge and understanding of Local Government.
- Knowledge of the planning and delivery of community-based projects.
- Relevant experience in Community Centre /Neighbourhood Centre operations and related

customer service.
- Working knowledge of statute and regulations to Work Health Safety, public buildings and

venue hire spaces.
- Demonstrated ability working in a multicultural environment, including working with First

Nations People and people from non-English speaking backgrounds.
