**Disability Support Worker**

Disability Support Work involves assisting a range of clients with a variety of needs in a number of different ways.

**The Organisation**

At _My Supports_, we are a leading NDIS support provider, created and led by people with disabilities, offering personalized and compassionate care to almost 2,000 clients across Australia. We take pride in our peer-led approach, with over 70% of our team having personal experience with disabilities or caregiving. Our focus is on empowering people with disabilities by providing tailored support through local teams, ensuring clients receive the best care in their own communities

**The Role**

Working in Neighbourhood Teams in your very own community, under the direction of a Neighbourhood Team Leader, the Support Worker assists and supports our clients, in line with their NDIS plan, to achieve their goals through a person-centred approach of 'choice and control'.

**Day to day duties may include (but are not limited to)**
- Assisting clients to complete and/or develop life-skills in household duties and yard/home maintenance, such as cleaning, cooking, shopping, budgeting etc;
- Transporting clients to appointments and/or shopping for and/or with client;
- Assisting clients in building client self-image and self-confidence;
- Assisting clients in social and community participation;
- Promoting independence and well-being;
- Assisting clients with personal care and manual handling; including showering and bowel care;
- Medical administration (if qualified);
- Administration, e.g. daily journal reporting;
- Working within the NDIS guidelines and escalate relevant information to Team Leaders.
- An enthusiastic outlook, and a very open, friendly, bubbly personality;
- A compassionate and empathetic demeanour;
- Strong listening and oral communication skills and patience;
- Strong relationship-building skills;
- The ability to maintain clear professional boundaries;
- Experience providing personal care (preferred)

**Location & Benefits**

The locations for work will vary depending on the client(s) and their needs within the area. We are currently recruiting for **The Noarlunga region and Christie Downs region (SA) and surrounding suburbs**. It is an exciting time to join My Supports, on a casual basis. - Disability Support Work: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (preferred)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- Australian Driver's Licence (required)
