**POSITION DESCRIPTION - **Neighbourhood Centres** **Coordinator Programs***
**Purpose**
The Neighbourhood Centres Coordinator Programs will be responsible for planning and coordinating
programs and events in line with the identified needs of the community. Strategic collaborating in the delivery
of programs is a key component of the position and requires effective networking and collaboration skills.
The position will ensure that there is a variety of programs delivered that appeal to a diverse cross section
of the community and requires the ability to manage programs and events in a multi-demand environment.
The primary objective of this position is to provide positive leadership within the Neighbourhood Centres,
developing and coaching staff within their Neighbourhood Centre officer roles and in supporting programs
and events. The position will be an active member of the Community Wellbeing wider leadership team,
contributing towards the future planning of the unit.
Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain solid relationships (with internal and external)
stakeholders will be vital to this role. As an ongoing commitment to the organisation you will be responsible
for delivering the best service to our community and to improve residents' quality life; continuously, smartly
and efficiently in the scope of your daily work.

**People Management**
- Provide leadership to Neighbourhood and Community Centre staff. Foster and support collaboration,
communication and innovation through effective human resource management strategies that support
the achievement of excellence in:

- Identify training and development needs***
- Recruiting and inducting staff in accordance with Council policy***
- Complying with the scope of employment legislation, Code of Conduct, Award and
industrial instruments.

- Provide effective coaching and mentoring to direct reports, supporting them to develop as leaders and
succeed in their roles.

- Provide service wide leadership to all Neighbourhood and Community Centre staff with an emphasis
on programs, events and the customer experience.

a team culture, which lives the values.

**Operational Leadership**
- Provide advice/support/assistance to Neighbourhood Centre staff and volunteers.
- In collaboration with the Neighbourhood Centre Team coordinate and deliver Neighbourhood Centre
events and programs. Coordinate and deliver events and programs, delegating tasks appropriately to
the Program team to effectively manage a diverse program of events and activities.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of City of Marion events such as Marion Celebrates and
Tonsley activation.
- Develop effective evaluation measures and statistics for all programs and events and prepare reports
in a timely manner.
- Network with external community groups to promote the Neighbourhood Centre Service.
- Work collaboratively with the Program Marketing and Promotion Support Officer, supplying written
material in a timely manner to ensure effective promotion of Centre activities.
- Manage expenditure within budget in collaboration with Team Leader Neighbourhood Centres.
- Together with the Team Leader Neighbourhood Centres develop and submit grant-funding
