Primary LocationVIC - Melbourne - 655 Collins St Job Description SummaryAs a Group Financial Reporting Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting Service Stream's statutory and special purpose financial reporting obligations. This mid-level role requires strong technical accounting expertise, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to partner with corporate cost centre managers to deliver accurate and insightful financial reporting across the business.

You'll be part of a high-performing finance team based out of our Melbourne office (Docklands), with hybrid working arrangements available for a minimum of three days per week onsite.

Please note this is a permanent full-time position About the Role
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, interim, and annual statutory financial statements for Service Stream Group.
  • Support the coordination of interim and year-end audit processes, liaising with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of Audit and Risk Committee papers and technical accounting documentation.
  • Lead or assist in special purpose reporting and compliance for subsidiaries and joint ventures.
  • Prepare monthly consolidated balance sheets and perform analytical reviews of key accounts.
  • Identify and implement process improvements based on audit feedback and business needs.
  • Participate in finance projects including ASRS implementation, taxation, treasury, and internal audit.
  • Act as a Finance Business Partner for Commercial, Business Development, and HSE cost centres.
  • Deliver monthly management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for assigned cost centres.
  • Collaborate with cost centre managers to provide financial insights and drive process improvements.

Skills and experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant finance experience.
  • CPA / CA qualified or equivalent (desirable).
  • Strong experience in general ledger review, account reconciliation, and variance analysis.
  • High numeracy skills and ability to manage large volumes of data.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible and responsive to change, with excellent time management skills.
