Group Financial Accountant

About the role:

We're excited to offer a newly created opportunity for an ambitious Group Financial Accountant (GFA) to join our expanding finance team. Reporting directly to the Head of Group Finance, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful consolidated reporting across our multi-jurisdictional operations.

This role requires a strong understanding of complex group structures and varying accounting standards, with the ability to navigate and interpret financial data across Australia, New Zealand, and the US.

As GFA, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of group finance activities, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders in a high-performing, collaborative environment that values precision, initiative, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver accurate and timely monthly group consolidations and segment reporting for Board presentations and statutory requirements
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring high-quality financial reporting and adherence to relevant accounting standards
• Coordinate the annual group audit process and prepare statutory financial statements
• Uphold robust financial controls, including balance sheet reconciliations and transaction integrity
• Support group-wide cash flow forecasting, banking operations, and cash reporting
• Assist with group tax compliance and contribute to tax strategy and cross-border structuring in partnership with regional finance team

What sets you apart from the rest:

• CA qualified, with 3–4 years of external audit experience gained in a Big Four or mid-tier firm
• At least 2 years of experience in an industry-based finance role
• Strong technical expertise in consolidation, acquisition accounting, and tax-effect accounting and compliance
• Exposure to international accounting standards, with working knowledge of US GAAP
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions
• Naturally inquisitive, proactive, and comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Confident in leading audit processes and effectively managing auditor queries
