About the Company
Our client is a leading independent services organisation with operations across Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. The company combines deep local expertise with innovative technology to deliver accurate, efficient, and customer-focused solutions across a diverse client base.
With a strong growth trajectory and an active M&A program, the business continues to expand its footprint and enhance its service offering across key markets. The finance team plays a pivotal role in supporting this growth, providing the insight and technical capability needed to drive performance and integration across the group.
About the Role
This is a newly created opportunity for an ambitious Group Financial Accountant (GFA) to join a growing finance team. Reporting to the Head of Group Finance, the GFA will play a key role in ensuring consolidated reporting is accurate, timely, and insightful. With operations spanning multiple jurisdictions, the position requires someone who can navigate the complexities of group structures and differing accounting standards.
You will gain exposure to a broad range of group finance activities, working closely with stakeholders across Australia, New Zealand, and the US in a high-performing, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly group consolidations and segment reporting for Board and statutory purposes.
- Lead group month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring high-quality financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
- Coordinate the annual group audit and prepare statutory accounts.
- Maintain strong financial controls, including balance sheet reconciliations and transaction quality.
- Support cash flow forecasting, group banking, and cash reporting activities.
- Contribute to group tax compliance and assist with tax strategy and cross-border structuring in collaboration with regional teams.
About You
- Big Four or Mid-Tier training with 3–4 years' external audit experience (CA qualified)
- Minimum of 2 years' industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of consolidation, acquisition accounting, and tax effect accounting.
- Exposure to international standards with a working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across multiple jurisdictions.
- Naturally inquisitive, proactive, and comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Confident leading the audit process and managing queries from auditors.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant looking to broaden their skills within a fast-growing business that continues to expand through acquisition. You'll join a supportive, collaborative finance team where your contribution will have a real impact.
