What you'll be doing
The Nurse Manager Youth Health Services is pivotal to the coordination of client care, service management and leadership of the nursing progression to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and efficient use of resources. This role works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and provides clinical expertise, professional role modelling and clinical governance to the nursing staff. The role will work alongside the Youth health coordinator to promote practice development and quality initiatives, building community capacity to promote safe, efficient and high-quality holistic health care for vulnerable young people.
This position is responsible for leading, planning, coordinating and evaluating services; the effective management of all resources; and promotion of best practice to enhance client outcomes through staff development and research. The Nursing Unit Manager or Nurse Manager Youth Health provides support to the Youth Health Coordinator to assist with operational functioning of Youth Health.
This position will manage the Youth Health Nursing positions and provide support and leadership to other associated services and staff.

Essential Criteria:
- Registration in line with Award requirements: Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and management of nursing services and resource allocation.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate projects, quality improvement and other initiatives, policies and procedures for service improvement and evaluation, and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of services to marginalised young people in a community context.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, and the ability to motivate, manage and develop clinical staff.
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues and health needs of marginalised young people and experience in working with young people communities.
- Demonstrated effective planning, organisational, problem-solving skills and ability to lead in a changing environment, to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- High level organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Current driver's licence valid in NSW and willingness to use for work purposes.
