Join the Prevention, Early Intervention and Recovery Service (PEIRS) at Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) — a specialist community-based mental health service supporting children and young people aged 12–24 with complex and persistent mental health and neurodevelopmental challenges.

What you'll be doing

As a Clinical Neuropsychologist within PEIRS, you'll deliver expert, compassionate care through comprehensive neuropsychological assessment, diagnosis and intervention for young people with moderate to severe mental health challenges and neurodevelopmental disorders.

  • Conduct diagnostic assessments for IDD, ADHD, SLD and ASD in complex cases
  • Provide tailored neuropsychological evaluations and evidence-based interventions
  • Lead cognitive remediation programs and deliver group and individual treatments
  • Offer clinical supervision to students and upskill colleagues in neuropsychological assessment
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, schools, and community services to support young people's recovery journeys.

Essential Criteria:
- Licence: NSW Drivers licence (Current Class C (P2 acceptable) and willingness to drive for work purposes).
- Qualification: Accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Neuropsychology.
- Registration: Full registration as Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency AHPRA and endorsement in the area of Clinical Neuropsychology, or eligibility to progress to endorsement.

Selection Criteria:

  • Accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Neuropsychology and full registration as Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency AHPRA and endorsement in the area of Clinical Neuropsychology, or eligibility to progress to endorsement.
  • Demonstrated skills and clinical experience in neuropsychological assessment, interpretation and report writing in child, adolescent and youth settings, including working with children/families who present with moderate to severe emotional and behavioural problems.
  • Demonstrated skills in evidence based interventions and cognitive remediation treatments in children, adolescents and youth presenting with complex mental health issues.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and ability to build therapeutic relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and with other service providers to achieve optimal outcomes for children, young people and families.
