About the Position

Our organization is seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Support Worker who can make a positive impact in the daily lives of young people.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be flexible, tolerant, patient, organized, reliable, and punctual, with the ability to act with integrity in challenging situations.

They will be committed to supporting the well-being of young people and understanding the factors affecting their lives, with the ability to follow established policies and procedures.

Availability to work a minimum of 24 hours per week is essential, as well as a willingness to travel to regional locations.

The successful candidate will have a strong desire to collaborate with clients for the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Empowering young people to make informed life choices
  • Providing assistance with daily routines
  • Engaging and communicating effectively with young people
  • Supporting domestic tasks, shopping, cleaning, and meal preparation
  • Administering medication as required
  • Implementing behavior support plans to ensure individualized care
  • Documenting daily shift notes to maintain accurate records
  • Familiarity with organizational policies, including Occupational Health and Safety protocols
Requirements:
  • A current Full NSW Driver's License and vehicle
  • Comprehensive or third-party car insurance
  • A valid Working with Children's Check
  • At least six months of recent paid experience as a Youth Support Worker in a residential setting
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates
  • A minimum Cert IV in Youth Support or Diploma of Community Services qualification
  • Evidence of two COVID-19 vaccinations (Medicare)
  • Current availability to work
