The Opportunity: We are seeking a Clinic Nurse Specialist to support our Drug and Alcohol Unit at Ramsay Clinic Wentworthville. The Clinical Nurse Specialist is an advanced level Registered Nurse who acts as a clinical and professional resource person demonstrating broad knowledge and clinical expertise in all facets of caring for the patient. Our Drug and Alcohol Unit provides Drug and Alcohol assessment and treatment, detoxification, relapse prevention and group therapy rehabilitation. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will perform duties with the support and guidance of the Department Manager to ensure a high level of quality patient care is delivered in line with the care values and strategic direction of the Hospital and Ramsay Health Care.

Responsibilities
  • Contributing and participating in the education of all clinical staff by being involved in department orientation, in-servicing and clinical competence programs
  • Making valuable contributions to the Hospital continuous improvement processes
  • Demonstrating high levels of critical thinking and problem-solving skills within the clinical setting
  • Supervising the delivery of quality patient care, developing standards of practice and implementing changes to clinical practice
  • Delivering quality improvement initiatives within the clinic
  • Working in an active leadership role, including the development and provision of evidence-based clinical nursing
Skills And Experience
  • Relevant registration with the AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum four (4) years in the mental health specialty as a Registered Nurse
  • Post-graduate qualification, undertaking same or working towards
  • Previous work experience in Drug and Alcohol or Mental Health Nursing
  • Excellent time management skills. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
  • Excellent communication skills, problem solving skills and interpersonal skills to ensure excellence customer service is delivered
  • Ability to work rotating roster
Remuneration

On offer is base hourly rate of $55.17 + superannuation, exclusive of penalties or allowances. ( NSW Clinical Nurse/Midwifery Specialist )

Requirements
  • Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
