About the Child, Youth and Family (CYF) Program

Life Without Barriers delivers Out of Home Care services across Australia, supporting children and young people who are unable to live safely at home. Our work is guided by Cornell University's evidence-based Children and Residential Experiences (CARE) model, which promotes trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and relationship-based care.

Our goal is to create safe, nurturing environments where young people feel supported to heal, grow, and thrive. We invest in ongoing training and reflective practice to ensure our staff and carers are equipped to make a lasting, positive impact in the lives of children and young people every day.

About the Role

We're seeking compassionate and committed House Managers to lead our residential care homes in Bunbury region. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll oversee day-to-day operations and create a safe, culturally respectful, and therapeutic environment for young people with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team including Senior Residential Care Workers and Residential Support Workers
  • Ensure the home is emotionally and physically safe, nurturing, and engaging
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children and young people
  • Manage care planning, transitions, and stakeholder collaboration
  • Roster staff appropriately and respond to crisis situations when needed
  • Facilitate team meetings, reflective supervision, and ongoing training
  • Keep client records and reports up to date using CIRTS database

About You

  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention (or similar qualification)
  • Experience supporting young people with trauma and high needs
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Confident in managing crisis situations and working under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate
