Your New Role
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the development and delivery of strategic policy initiatives that align with government and agency priorities.
- Preparing clear, well-reasoned policy documents including ministerial briefs, submissions, and correspondence for senior stakeholders.
- Conducting thorough research and analysis to inform evidence-based policy advice and recommendations.
- Assisting in the coordination and delivery of policy projects, including planning, reporting, and risk management.
- Monitoring emerging policy trends and identifying opportunities or risks relevant to the agency's objectives.
- Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal teams, government departments, and external stakeholders.
What You Will Need to Succeed
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Experience in developing and evaluating public policy, ideally with exposure to First Nations contexts or social policy areas.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable policy advice.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience preparing high-level briefs and reports.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
- Sound understanding of government decision-making processes, including Cabinet, Budget, and parliamentary procedures.

- 12-month contract with possibility of extension or permanency.
