Your new company
This is a unique opportunity to join a nationally significant health organisation that leads and coordinates improvements in safety and quality across the Australian healthcare system. The organisation partners with clinicians, governments, and health services to deliver better outcomes for patients and communities.
Your new role
As the Senior Project Officer within the Antimicrobial Use and Resistance Program, you will play a central role in shaping Australia's national response to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and infection prevention. This is a high-impact role that combines strategic thinking, technical analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading the planning and implementation of national strategies and guidance to support program activities.
- Managing complex projects including documentation, risk management, procurement, budgeting, and contractor oversight.
- Preparing high-quality reports, briefings, and policy documents for a range of audiences, including senior stakeholders.
- Conducting literature reviews and analysing clinical and technical data to inform program direction.
- Coordinating consultation processes with experts and stakeholders to ensure inclusive and evidence-based input.
- Presenting at national forums, workshops, and committee meetings, and providing secretariat support where required.
- Collaborating across internal teams to ensure alignment with broader safety and quality initiatives.
This role requires initiative, analytical depth, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, technically complex environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Extensive experience in project management and policy development within healthcare or public health
- Strong analytical and research skills, including interpreting complex clinical data and literature
- High-level writing and communication skills, with the ability to tailor content for diverse audiences
- Proven ability to consult and negotiate with senior stakeholders, including clinicians and government representatives
- A deep understanding of AMR, communicable diseases, infection prevention, and the Australian healthcare system
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a health-related field
What you'll get in return
- Competitive salary of $120,829 - $137,808 plus 15.4% superannuation
- A meaningful opportunity to contribute to national health outcomes
- A collaborative and inclusive work environment
- Flexible hybrid working arrangements (Sydney CBD office)
- Exposure to high-profile national health initiatives and expert networks
