About the role:
Your purpose is to deliver excellent HR services that attract, develop, and engage top talent, ensuring Aurora continues to create meaningful impact for Indigenous students, professionals, and communities.
You will play a hands-on role in recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, and supporting team members, ensuring they have the tools, systems, and culture needed to thrive. Through your commitment to operational excellence and wellbeing initiatives, you'll help maintain a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture where every team member feels supported and valued throughout their journey with Aurora.
Responsibilities:
- Attract and engage top talent through Aurora's Employee Value Proposition.
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment in collaboration with hiring managers and stakeholders.
- Manage job postings, candidate screening, P&C interviews, reference checks, and offer letters.
- Support hiring managers during technical interviews, ensuring fair and effective selection.
- Maintain clear and empathetic communication with all candidates, including outcome notifications and talent pool management.
- Plan and coordinate monthly engagement and cultural activities that foster connection and belonging.
- Implement wellbeing, recognition, and development initiatives that strengthen Aurora's inclusive culture.
- Deploy clear and engaging internal communications, such as staff updates and announcements.
- Prepare and manage HR documentation, including contracts, onboarding forms, probation and termination letters, and policy updates.
- Maintain accurate employee records in Employment Hero and SharePoint, ensuring compliance with data protection and privacy laws.
- Update other systems in line with changes in users and processes (e.g., LinkedIn Learning, Sonder, Deputy, GPTW).
- Audit and update HRIS data regularly to maintain accuracy.
- Act as a trusted first point of contact for employees' HR queries or concerns — providing advice or escalating issues to the P&C Manager when appropriate.

About you:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR and a minimum of 2 years of experience in recruitment.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management or a related field.
- Experience with HRIS systems. Desirable experience with Employment Hero, Deputy, Seek, LinkedIn and Ethical Jobs.
- Desirable experience in the education sector and/or Indigenous organisations
- Desirable experience in roles that required strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, high attention to detail, confidentiality, and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
