Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Inject Pty Ltd Full time $104,000 - $130,878 per year

About Inject

  • Inject is a values-led HR consulting firm with a 12-year track record helping small and medium businesses build high-performing, human-centric workplaces. We work with business owners who are serious about developing their people — supporting them with everything from strategic HR and recruitment to L&D, compliance, and transformation.
  • We lead clients through their stickiest people challenges with depth, empathy, and evidence-based tools. And we're growing. As we expand our client base and internal capabilities, we're looking for a full-time HR Consultant to join the team — someone with solid HR Advisory experience who is ready to take their skills to the next level.

Why Join Inject

This is a meaningful, career-building role for someone who wants to:

  • Make a visible difference to small businesses by helping them make better people decisions and build productive workplace cultures.
  • Grow into a more senior role — with support to develop your consulting, leadership, and strategic capability.
  • Be part of a professional and friendly team that cares about quality, practicality, and how the work actually lands in a business.

We have clear growth plans and a transparent career framework that is designed to provide you with a career path that best suits your strengths and interests.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll join the team as a senior consultant and contribute to a variety of client-facing and internal work, including:

  • Advising on common workplace issues such as underperformance, misconduct, absenteeism, redundancies, employee conflict and terminations
  • Attending client meetings and supporting managers through tricky people decisions
  • Assisting in the implementation of HR systems and compliance (e.g., policies, contracts, audits)
  • Leading HR project work across our Perform & Grow or Admin & Feedback solutions
  • Managing client relationships to build a stronger understanding of their business, whilst educating on HR practices
  • Learning to coach clients, present confidently, and manage client relationships.
  • Contributing to internal knowledge development and mentoring junior HR staff over time.

About You

You're an experienced HR Advisor (or possibly already a senior HR Business Partner) with practical knowledge of employment legislation and how to apply it in real workplace situations. You know how to have difficult conversations, explain risks clearly, and work collaboratively with business owners and/or managers to find practical solutions.

You're looking for the next step in your career — a chance to work with multiple clients, grow your capability, and move toward a more senior consulting role.

Selection Criteria

  • Strong understanding of Australian employment law, especially the Fair Work Act.
  • Solid HR Advisory experience across: managing performance, misconduct, absence and lateness, restructures/redundancies, terminations and other related topics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative, curious, and solutions-oriented approach
  • Ability to work a full-time role, working hybrid in the Clayton office, onsite with clients and WFH (if desired)
  • Must have full Australian working rights.
