About the Role

This role is based within our Infrastructure and Environment department located in Freeling. Reporting to the Capital Projects Manager, this role will provide effective project, contract and contractor management to deliver capital renewal and upgrade projects in an efficient and sustainable manner. This role will also actively participate to achieve strategic and business objectives through continuous improvement as an ongoing process, to ensure that Council operates at a high level of efficiency.

This role is based at Freeling, only a 45min drive from the Adelaide CBD with great connectors such as the Northern Expressway and Gawler Bypass, it is an easy and enjoyable drive.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

·       Diploma in Civil Engineering or Project Management or 5+ years' experience in a similar role to obtain technical competency and Certificate 4 in Leadership and/or Management desirable.

·       Experience in a supervisory or leadership role, demonstrating the ability to supervise and motivate staff.

·       Detailed knowledge of road design and construction, stormwater, drainage and maintenance techniques and standards.

·       Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation and liaison with Elected Members, external organisations, community and staff.

·       Knowledge and demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations, design standards, codes of practice, etc, relevant to the function.

·       Knowledge of quality management procedures as they relate to construction projects.

·       Awareness of the environmental and social impacts of civil construction works.

·       Ability to drive system improvements.
