Join the dedicated Emergency Department team at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Woolloongabba, as a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Permanent Full-Time or Part-Time, up to 76 hours per fortnight). This is your opportunity to provide advanced clinical leadership, education, and expert consultancy within one of Australia's largest and most dynamic adult Emergency Departments.
Your new role:
As a Clinical Nurse Consultant, you'll provide expert clinical leadership and guidance in emergency care, driving excellence, collaboration, and innovation by:
- Providing expert clinical guidance, assessment, and care planning for complex emergency presentations.
- Leading quality improvement, research, and clinical redesign initiatives to enhance patient flow and outcomes.
- Acting as a mentor, educator, and clinical resource for nursing and multidisciplinary team members.
- Supporting clinical governance frameworks, policy development, and evidence-based best practice.
- Contributing to education programs, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Working collaboratively with the Nurse Manager, Nurse Educator, and divisional leadership to deliver excellence in emergency care.
About you:
You are an experienced emergency nurse passionate about leadership, education, and innovation, thriving in a dynamic environment and providing expert guidance by:
- Holding current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
- Demonstrating extensive emergency nursing experience, ideally 5+ years in advanced or leadership roles.
- Possessing advanced clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
- Showing proven leadership and communication skills to influence and support positive team culture.
- Having a commitment to evidence-based practice, patient-centred care, and continuous learning.
- (Highly desirable) Holding or working toward a postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing or related specialty.
