The Community Care Team (CCT) provide multidisciplinary community mental health assessment and treatment services to adults affected by mental illness, their family/significant others and carers. The team focuses on a recovery-orientated approach, one that is person-centred, strengths based, collaborative and empowering. There is an emphasis on consumer choice, building resilience and enhancing opportunities for social inclusion and wellbeing.

About the role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) will deliver specialised clinical services and leadership as a member of a multidisciplinary community mental health team providing interventions to adults receiving care under Community and Acute Services (CAS). The role will contribute to the development and implementation of strategic directions to enhance professional and clinical knowledge for all clinicians.
A CNC within the West Moreton Health Service (WMHS) is a registered nurse who is accountable for an advanced level of practice. This role supports the delivery of services by ensuring the coordination of patient centred clinical practice, participating in the provision of skilled nursing care and supporting the multidisciplinary team to meet performance, safety and clinical governance standards.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated expert level of clinical knowledge, expertise, and skills in contemporary mental health nursing to allow for autonomous practice and the provision of authoritative advice within a multidisciplinary/multi-specialist team and to primary mental health care providers regarding service delivery, clinical assessments and care planning across the continuum, risk management, and mental health legislation.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively within teams, with consumers and their families and with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Possesses advanced clinical leadership qualities recognised at service level to assess, guide, and contribute to implementation of innovative and evidence based clinical practices.
- Demonstrated ability to provide operational leadership as required and to manage quality improvement, service evaluation and research initiatives on a service-wide basis.
- Understanding of contemporary human resource practices including workplace health and safety, employment equity and anti-discrimination.
- Exemplifies the West Moreton Health Professional Practice Model by demonstrating person-centred care, professional excellence, safe and effective care delivery, commitment to quality and safety, and collaborative practice.

- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association within Australia. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
