About the business

This well established Gastroenterology Specialist practice is based at St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside. Our staff members are friendly, motivated and team oriented who are able to work autonomously when required.

Our Practice is looking for an experienced Medical Receptionist looking to work in a fast-paced, modern computer based practice on the Brisbane Northside.

About the role

The role will require the successful candidate to have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills in managing patient care in a small but busy practice. The candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to learn new tasks and processes, be able to multitask, whilst integrating into a supportive team environment, ultimately being able to work autonomously when required. The successful candidate will be offered 3 days per week, Monday to Friday. The candidate will need flexibility with working hours and ability to cover staff leave.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Answering high volume incoming phone calls and assisting with enquiries
  • Manage patient bookings and appointments, including meet and greet, point-of-care billing and receipting, and booking of future appointments
  • Booking procedural lists, including liaising with hospitals, other medical specialists and referring doctors
  • General administration including updating patient records, attaining relevant documents and managing incoming/outgoing correspondence to other Medical Practitioners
  • Timely and accurate communication with Practice doctors

Skills and experience

  • Good organisational skills with an ability to multitask
  • Able to work efficiently with a high level of accuracy
  • Sound computer skills, preferably with familiarity using GENIE medical software, including receiving and sending of electronic documents
  • Reasonable medical receptionist experience (preferably a minimum of 1 years)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
