The Role

Help us solve a real problem we have.

Caravan Industry Association of Australia has a diverse stakeholder base and undertakes some amazing activities on behalf of the caravanning and camping industry.

Yet as a small and busy office, some of the key activities which support our business we struggle to complete efficiently. This is an amazing role which covers a wide range of activities ranging from meeting and diary management (for board and CEO), assistance in operational and board reporting through to issuing and distributing membership certificates and merchandise packing, through to social media and content for websites (with assistance from the team). There is no inbound answering phones (as managed through a virtual receptionist) although some outbound calling is required.

Working closely with our operations team, the primary focus of the role is provide invaluable support to a small but committed business and in particular to a busy CEO.

This position will suit a self-motivated individual capable of working on a diverse range of projects at once, managing these with limited instruction and tight deadlines. You will need to have excellent communication, and time management skills, be highly organised, with exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to show initiative.

While the role is anticipated to be full time we are willing to offer flexible hours to the right candidate (including school hours for young parents or return to work situations). This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their administrative / operational career or someone looking to return to the workforce.

This role is located in our Port Melbourne office which is close to public transport with limited off street parking also available.

Caravan Industry Association of Australia is the peak national body for the Australian caravanning and camping industry.  We undertake a large range of exciting activities on behalf of the sector designed to improve quality and standards, increase awareness for the sector and continue to grow one of Australia's manufacturing and tourism success stories.

The organisation operates under four operational pillars:

Marketing (to consumers, media and industry through a range of mediums)

Research (collecting and collating data on the industry across all states)

Lobbying & Advocacy (through strong advocacy and lobbying activities at a Federal level)

Compliance & Accreditation (through accreditation and compliance programs across the sector)

We are a small and dynamic team, passionate about the development of the Australian caravanning and camping sector and spread across two offices (one in Brisbane and one in Melbourne).
