My client is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to join a busy and well-regarded law firm based in Southport CBD. With an excellent reputation in property, litigation, wills, and estates, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role where you'll have a direct impact on the firm's operations and client service.

About the Role:

Working closely with the Director, you will keep a close eye on matters and support the management of the team's file load. The role involves overseeing risk management, HR, client onboarding/offboarding, and day-to-day operational requirements, while helping to sustain the firm's positive and professional culture.

This role is not responsible for payroll or accounting, allowing you to focus on practice management and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Director to ensure effective oversight of matters and team workloads
  • Manage risk and compliance across the practice
  • Lead HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, and staff management
  • Oversee client onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Maintain and nurture a strong team culture

About You:

  • Previous experience in legal practice management
    or
    management of a professional services firm (e.g. accounting practice) with transferable skills
  • Strong understanding of HR, compliance, and operational management
  • Experience with Smokeball CRM preferred (not essential)
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • Ability to take feedback and strive for personal development
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and confident in managing competing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster collaboration
  • True problem solver and great eye for detail
  • Adaptable
