Donnelly Law Group is an elite criminal law firm based in Southport on the Gold Coast. We're seeking a Practice Manager to serve as the firm's commercial and operational commander. Your mandate is to eradicate inefficiency, enforce financial discipline, and drive the operational tempo that allows our legal team to win.

If you are looking for a comfortable, back-office role, this is not it. We are looking for a leader who executes with urgency and takes absolute ownership of business outcomes.


Your Mandate: The Four Pillars of Success

Your performance will be judged on your ability to deliver measurable results against these non-negotiable pillars:

  1. Eradicate Revenue Leakage & Master Financial Hygiene: You will take command of our entire billing lifecycle. Your primary mission is to implement and ruthlessly enforce protocols that control scope creep and ensure all stages of work are costed, approved, and billed. You will be the guardian of the firm's profitability.
  2. Command the Daily Operational Tempo: You will establish and drive the firm's rhythm. This means leading daily team huddles, implementing a structured reporting cadence, and ensuring a flawless flow of information between the sales, legal, and client delivery teams.
  3. Forge the Link Between Sales & Delivery: You will actively monitor lead conversion and inbound business data, not as a passive observer, but as a strategic leader. You will ensure our operational capacity is always aligned with our commercial ambitions and identify opportunities for process improvement that directly impact growth.
  4. Build a High-Performance Operational Team: You will lead, train, and develop our Client Delivery Team (CDT), transforming them into a highly efficient unit. You will build and embed the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that become the firm's undisputed source of operational truth.

The Practice Manager's DNA: Who You Are

We are looking for a very specific set of traits and experiences:

  • You have a background/comprehension in criminal law (as a lawyer or senior paralegal) not to practice it, but to leverage it.This fluency is your strategic advantage, allowing you to bypass the learning curve and focus 100% on operational execution from day one.
  • You are an architect of systems. You don't just follow processes; you build, implement, and refine them. You have a proven history of creating efficiency and eliminating bottlenecks.
  • You are commercially obsessed. You inherently understand profit margins, the cost of inefficiency, and the direct link between operational discipline and financial success.
  • You lead with decisive communication. You are comfortable holding senior lawyers accountable to firm protocols, training your team with clarity, and escalating roadblocks before they become problems.
