We are one of the largest window and door manufacturers in Australia and we need new staff to expand.
The RoleBased at our Ormeau branch and reporting to the General Manager CI & OHS, the Continuous Improvement Manager will provide guidance, direction, and leadership for the design, planning, and operational improvement of the Southern Star Way (SSW) across our production plants.
This role will be pivotal in ensuring safety, quality, DIFOT, and productivity targets are met, while also delivering year-on-year improvements in cost and inventory.
Key Accountabilities
- Demonstrate personal commitment to safety by proactively leading and role-modelling across all plants.
- Coach State Operations Leaders to develop and deliver each plant's continuous improvement goals, driving operator engagement in consultation with General Managers.
- Act as the subject matter expert in SSW, ensuring standard work practices are embedded across the plant network.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with and coach plant leadership teams to implement SSW consistently and to a high standard.
- Build capability in SSW tools and processes through structured training and on-the-job coaching.
- Support the development and execution of annual CI plans, ensuring robust tracking, review, and adjustment.
- Analyse plant performance data to identify and drive improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to annual training needs analysis and ensure capability-building initiatives are delivered through training calendars.
- Support plant management to review and verify all SOPs at least every 2 years in line with SSW standards.
- Share best practices across the network to drive replication and continuous improvement of the SSW.

Knowledge
- Bachelor of Engineering
- Master of Engineering (desirable)
- Lean Manufacturing Green Belt
- Six Sigma Certification (desirable)
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (desirable)
- Understanding of project and change management methodologies
Experience
- Proven experience applying lean methodology and driving CI in manufacturing
- Hands-on experience in a production environment (windows & doors preferred)
- Experience training operators and facilitating workshops
- Demonstrated ability to plan, deploy, and evaluate projects
Travel
This role is based in Ormeau, QLD, and requires regular travel across SSW manufacturing sites (approx. 40% per month) to support operational improvements through coaching, mentoring, and hands-on leadership.
