As the Product Sales / Account Manager, you are responsible for building long-term, trusted relationships with Defence, Intelligence and National Security clients. You will work with these customers to ensure our commitments to them are being met. Under the direction of the Nova Systems Geospatial Sales Lead, you will undertake business development activities to identify and capture Product opportunities in the Defence and National Security domain that meet the strategic objectives of Nova Systems.
About the role:
As a Product Sales / Account Manager for Defence in our Geospatial business your role and responsibilities will focus on capturing, closing sales and guaranteeing the fulfilment of our obligations to clients.
Your responsibilities cover:
Customer Engagement and Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong enduring relationships with customers.
- Initiate and lead regular client meetings to sell Products, Services, and Training.
- Respond to Defence and National Security approaches to market for Products by writing and supporting sales proposals and tender responses.
- Work with Regional Business Managers and Capture Manager to support the capture of new and existing National Security contracts.
Sales Operations and Support
- Maintain the sales pipeline and forecasting using CRM.
- Deliver presentations to senior decision makers.
- Support the development of case studies and product briefs.
- Participate at industry events and trade conferences.
- Collaborate with the Sales Lead, Business Managers, and administration staff, to scope and quote.
Sales Strategy and Initiatives
- Play a key role in progressing our sales initiatives for selling Services and Products across all domains within National Security.
- Lead sales opportunities from capture to through to close, using a consultative sales approach.
- Drive deeper adoption of Service's engagements and Product usage, identifying new opportunities in adjacent markets.
- Perform competitive market intelligence to provide input to strategic and business planning to expand our market share.
- Work with the Nova Systems Geospatial Sales Lead and Business Managers to develop business, marketing strategies, and account plans.
We expect from you:
- Proven sales experience, ability to engage with senior decision makers, ability to take control of the negotiation process, and close sales.
- Knowledge of Defence contracting (ASDEFCON) and panel procurement practices.
- Experience selling complex technical solutions (physics modelling, satellite imagery, and geospatial data preferred).
- Advanced presentation skills.
- Extensive knowledge of digital engineering platforms and tools (Ansys STK) used by Defence and National Security.
- Experience writing and preparing sales proposals, tenders/bids, and account management plans.
- Experience managing the complete sales cycle, from prospecting and qualifying leads through to closing.
- High level of written and verbal communications skills.
- Excellent time management skills, with an ability to deliver tasks on time and with a high degree of accuracy.
- Australian Citizenship.
- Current Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) NV1 security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
