As a key member of our team, you will:
- Provide essential legal administrative support to solicitors in family law and children's law matters.
- Manage and maintain client files, records, and court documents, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Communicate with clients with empathy and professionalism, both over the phone and via email.
- Organise calendars, conferences, and court dates, helping our team stay on top of busy schedules.
- Draft correspondence, prepare legal bundles, collate and index documents, and liaise with counsel and stakeholders.
- Handle reception duties including answering calls, greeting clients, and assisting with enquiries.
- Assist with basic invoicing and billing tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Support the smooth running of the office, including liaising with solicitors and contributing to day-to-day administration.

- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Legal Secretary or Administration Officer in the area of Family Law (experience in Children's Law will be highly regarded).
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Adobe, Outlook, Teams, and Zoom), along with legal practice software (experience with Actionstep is an advantage, but training is provided).
- Strong organisational and time management skills – able to juggle competing priorities with ease, including managing court diaries and solicitors' appointments.
- Confidence in drafting correspondence, including emails, letters, and legal documents, as well as preparing court and client files and liaising with clients, solicitors, and courts.
- Basic invoicing and billing knowledge, with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
- Reception and phone skills – confident in answering calls warmly and professionally, assisting clients with empathy, and managing enquiries efficiently.
- A proactive mindset – someone who takes initiative and works well both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with the Family Law system and court processes (some knowledge of the Children's Court is desirable but not essential if you're willing to learn).
- Excellent communication skills with a professional and empathetic approach to client service.
