Events Coordinator
Since 2012 Women's Community Shelters (WCS) has changed the conversation about women's homelessness and family and domestic violence in NSW. Through our network of shelters, transitional housing and community-led programs, we deliver innovative solutions that change lives.
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Events Coordinator to deliver high-quality events that showcase and strengthen WCS's groundbreaking work. This role is pivotal in coordinating regular ministerial and media events with key government and community partners, as well as other WCS events, in support of WCS's fundraising, advocacy, volunteering and education initiatives
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Engagement, you will ensure the smooth planning and execution of impactful events that highlight WCS's mission and strengthen stakeholder engagement. You will be responsible for the operational delivery of events, managing logistics, liaising with stakeholders and suppliers, and ensuring WCS's brand and reputation are consistently promoted.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the operational delivery of regular ministerial and media events across a range of locations.
- Implementing all event elements in line with WCS communications plans and agreed milestones.
- Liaising with stakeholders, suppliers and contractors to ensure seamless delivery of AV, collateral, catering, content capture and logistics within budget.
- Preparing invitations, guest lists, run sheets, speaker notes, content briefs and ensuring events meet brand, partner and government guidelines.
- Providing event assistance with other WCS events, in support of WCS's fundraising, advocacy, volunteer and education initiatives
- Briefing and coordinating event promotion requirements with the engagement team to ensure WCS's brand is visible and well represented.
- Attending stakeholder meetings, managing communications and ensuring WCS is represented as a professional and reliable partner.
About You
You are a confident and highly organised events professional with a passion for making a difference. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while delivering exceptional experiences for stakeholders.
Essential skills and experience:
- Undergraduate degree or qualification in event management (or relevant experience).
- Minimum 3 years' experience managing events of 50+ attendees, with end-to-end responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience working with multiple stakeholders and suppliers to deliver shared outcomes.
- Strong understanding of media event requirements, including content and media liaison.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver under pressure.
- Proven ability to exercise judgement, initiative and confidentiality in stakeholder communications.
- Positive, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Flexibility to work outside standard hours (including some weekends) to support events.
Desirable:
- Experience delivering government-related events.
- Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector.
- Experience managing volunteer events.
Why Join WCS?
- Play a key role in delivering high-profile events that shine a light on solutions to women's homelessness and domestic violence.
- Work closely with passionate colleagues and partners across government, business and community.
- Be part of a values-driven organisation making a lasting social impact.
