Description:

The Uniting Church Synod of SA (UCASA) comprises more than 200 congregations conducting extensive and diverse mission activities across the state. It is an innovative, growing church, empowered by the Spirit to transform God's world. The Uniting Church is the third largest denomination in Australia with ten percent of South Australians affiliated with the Church. The Engagement Team of the Uniting Church Synod of SA, seeks to appoint an Events Coordinator (0.6FTE). This position will be based across two locations: Pirie Street Synod Office and the Uniting College for Leadership & Theology (UCLT) at the Brooklyn Park Campus (Yarthu Apinthi).

The Engagement Team seeks to develop and encourage high level communications across the Synod, Uniting College, congregations and associated church organisations. The promotion of the whole of Synod activities including marketing, branding, events and public relations are its key responsibilities.

The Events Coordinator will report to the Manager, Engagement. The the role is required to liaise and work collaboratively on a range of events, from youth events to conferences and other events resourcing congregations for mission and ministry. This will also include communications related activities delivered by the Engagement Team .

The Events Coordinator, as part oof the Engagement Team will:

  • Be responsible for the logistics, operations and co-ordination of key UCASA ministry events within the areas of Mission Leadership & Development (MLD), UCLT, Mission Resourcing and the Secretariat, which includes Meetings of the Synod, the peak body of the UCASA, a gathering of over 250 representatives from across the state.
  • Support the broader work of the Engagement Team in accordance with the scope of this position.

This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic, proactive and appropriately qualified applicant to support the events within the wider community and to add value to the Uniting Church in South Australia. The successful applicant will be a committed member of a Christian church congregation or faith community.
