About the Role
We are seeking expressions of interest for the position of People Advisor, VIC/SA/TAS. Reporting to the People Manager Vic/SA/TAS, this role will provide human resource management support and advice to Projects across the region, including guidance on resource planning, recruitment, onboarding, training and development, performance management, remuneration and cultural diversity.
This role works collaboratively with the National Infrastructure People team, key leaders in the VIC/SA/TAS business and the wider People team to identify and understand business challenges, and find opportunities to deliver solutions to enhance employee and business performance. The role will advise and support on people initiatives throughout the employee lifecycle from pre contracts to project delivery and demobilisation phase.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Provide general assistance to the Human Resource function in the implementation of HR strategies and projects
- Partner with the People Manager to provide operational support and advice in relation to the employee and project lifecycle
- Build positive relationships through influence and negotiation with employees, managers, and external stakeholder groups across the business
- Continuously seek ways of improving processes and strive towards efficient ways of working
- Provide counselling and support to managers and employees with regard to problems affecting work performance
- Provide support regarding people capability queries (induction, onboarding, performance management and development planning)
- Coordinate programs as required for the successful delivery and execution of the Infrastructure and John Holland People Strategy
- Provide support coordinating and managing annual cyclical People programs, such as remuneration reviews, performance reviews, and talent management.
To be successful in this key role, we are looking for;
- Post-secondary school training or TAFE certificate in HR, IR/ER, Education, Psychology or Business
- Degree or higher in Business, Human Resource Management, Legal, Finance or other associated disciplines
- Experience in a generalist HR Advisor role or similar
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of national and state regulatory frameworks
- Knowledge of contractual and commercial awareness
- Knowledge of employment legislation, including government policy
- Experience in HR project work, leading an initiative or desired outcome
- Strong interpersonal skills and social awareness with proven stakeholder management experience in an advisory level
