People Advisor

People Advisor
to join our People & Culture team here at David Jones, providing support to the People Business Partnering team in the delivery of people solutions through a people plan aligned to the commercial and strategic requirements of the business.

This role will suit someone that has
strong experience as a People Advisor
or has recently transitioned into a HR Business Partnering role in a smaller business and has demonstrated experience partnering with business stakeholders of cyclical HR activities as well as working alongside Senior HR/People Partners/Managers supporting them with strategic people initiatives.

What does the role involve?

• Partnering with the broader People team and business in delivering fit-for-purpose people insights and solutions aligned with business needs.
• Working across the people team and the business to support performance coaching and management
• Operate as a conduit for key people initiatives with a focus on optimising employee experiences,
• Enabling data-driven people planning, as well as active management of cyclical people activities such as talent, succession, performance, recognition, engagement and remuneration
• Supporting the People Business Partners and working closely with our People Assist Team and other People Advisors to help form meaningful people interventions aligned to both the business strategy and people plan
• Coaching leaders on generalist ER and performance matters
• Supporting leaders with probationary review processes and onboarding compliance, ensuring all new team members are set up for success.
• Providing project management support for key P&C initiatives and ongoing cyclical activities

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate who'll THRIVE in the role will possess the following skills and experience:

• People/HR Advisor or junior HRBP experience with demonstrated experience owning HR cyclical activities and supporting senior HR team members with strategic people initiatives
• An ability to work autonomously to deliver outcomes but also have a team approach and mindset to sharing insights, updates and key information
• Strong stakeholder management experience and interpersonal skills and experience partnering with stakeholders of all levels
• Data analytics and insights capabilities
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Tertiary qualifications in HR, Psychology, Law, or similar ideal
