Local Laws Officer

This is a dynamic, front-line role where you are the face of the Council, primarily interacting with residents in the field, explaining requirements, and ensuring compliance with local laws.

Key Details & Compensation
  • Role: Local Laws Officer
  • Contract: 12 weeks (Casual Agency) with strong potential for ongoing extension.
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm. (Occasional weekend shifts with notice after training).
  • Pay Rate: $40.43 per hour (Band 4). A higher rate may be negotiated for candidates with exceptional experience and the right motivational fit.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Engaging with residents, conducting door knocks, and representing the Council in the community.
  • De-escalating customer frustration and communicating complex requirements with professionalism and clarity.
  • Interpreting and applying local legislation and by-laws.
  • Utilising field technology (handheld devices, body-worn cameras).

Local Laws experience, while highly regarded, is not essential - we hire for attitude and train for skill
