A little bit about the role
Situated within Council's Chief Financial Office, The Senior Rates Officer plays a vital role supporting the Team Leader Rates. The primary function of the team is to ensure efficient, high quality and responsive rating and related revenue services are delivered to customers.
The Senior Rates Officer~
Leverages leadership skills to provides technical support, mentoring and training to team members
Leads by example to provide a courteous, proactive, accurate and timely approach to working with customers and stakeholders
Ensures management of the rates and property database - this includes processing supplementary valuations and updating of rates and property details
Identifies and implements process improvements in response to issues, gaps and opportunities
Supports the Team Leader with development, engagement and performance of the team
A little bit about you
As someone who leads by example, you will bring~
Demonstrated experience in a rates/revenue role in Local Government
Demonstrated leadership ability to coach, mentor and motivate team members
Well-developed skills in managing customer service functions and delivering an exceptional customer experience
Highly developed time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including developing reports and preparing external correspondence
Experience in working with property and valuation data management and reporting systems
