Footprints Community is a well-regarded not-for-profit provider of community-based services, working in the community for over 30 years. We specialise in working with older people, those that experience disability, mental illness, as well as those who are at risk of homelessness.

About the role and program

This position is responsible for ensuring adults with hoarding needs are provided support to achieve or sustain tenancy, to decrease risk of housing stress or homelessness. The role includes providing advice and guidance to facilitate self-advocacy and connection with appropriate services, along with practical assistance to address hoarding and squalor needs.  The team leader conducts intake assessments and reviews, and partners with clients to develop support plans to address their needs.  Team Leader supervises Specialist Support Worker roles to ensure that client and program goals are met.

About you

Essential

  • Prior experience in a similar role, with knowledge of hoarding needs and the principles of decluttering, or the capacity to quickly learn, and prior experience in supervising direct reports to achieve client and program outcomes.
  • Ability to be respectful, calm, and encouraging towards consumers and have patience and understanding of others recovery journey, including the ability to set boundaries and be self-aware.
  • Ability to show initiative, think critically and make judgments based on sound reason and the information/evidence presented.
  • Demonstrated capacity to encourage and support individuals to engage in meaningful activities.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to effectively manage a client data base.
  • Ability to work remotely from a team when required, and ability to utilise virtual meeting platforms e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom.
  • Current class C driver license
  • Ability to use your own insured vehicle
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • National NDIS Worker Screening Check or current Yellow Card

Desirable

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Community/Human Services would be advantageous.
