The Role

We're seeking an experienced and hands-on Service Manager to lead our after-sales service team. This is a full-time leadership position reporting directly to the General Manager. You'll oversee all service operations, ensure exceptional customer experiences, and maintain our reputation for quality and responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of service technicians and administrators

  • Oversee scheduling, workflow, and quality control of all service and warranty repairs

  • Manage customer communications – from booking to post-service follow-up

  • Coordinate with parts and procurement to ensure timely availability of components

  • Implement and maintain service standards, SOPs, and safety protocols

  • Handle escalated customer concerns with professionalism and empathy

  • Monitor KPIs including turnaround times, customer satisfaction (CSAT), and first-time fix rates

  • Conduct regular team training on technical updates, product knowledge, and customer service

  • Manage service budgets, invoicing, and cost control

  • Liaise with production and design teams to provide feedback on product improvements

  • Ensure compliance with Australian Consumer Law, warranty obligations, and industry standards

About You

  • Proven experience in service management within the caravan, RV, automotive, or heavy vehicle industry

  • Strong technical understanding of off-road caravan systems (electrical, plumbing, chassis, suspension, appliances)

  • Leadership experience with a track record of building high-performing teams

  • Exceptional customer service ethos with a calm, solution-focused approach

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills

  • Proficiency with service management software (Mechanics Desk)

  • Trade qualification (desirable but not essential) – e.g., Automotive, Electrical, or Mechanical

  • Current driver's license (Forklift license advantageous)
