As an IT Inventory Specialist based in Sydney, you will be entrusted with end-to-end responsibility for managing technology assets across multiple APAC locations. Your day-to-day activities will involve maintaining precise records of IT infrastructure components such as servers, network devices, storage solutions, software licences, and desktop equipment.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of infrastructure inventory throughout the APAC region by working closely with both local and global teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Review existing processes and methodologies related to inventory management, strengthening them as needed to meet growing organisational demands.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all IT infrastructure assets including servers, storage devices, network equipment, software licences, and office desktops to guarantee up-to-date information at all times.
  • Coordinate the secure delivery of technology assets to data centres, vendors, and partners while ensuring full compliance with local regulations and company standards for timely handling.
  • Develop detailed reports and maintain interactive dashboards that provide insights into infrastructure asset usage, availability, and future demand trends.
  • Collaborate extensively with Purchasing, Infrastructure, Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Project Management teams to support accurate budget forecasting and cost tracking initiatives.
  • Investigate any discrepancies in inventory records promptly and arrange annual stock takes to verify physical counts against system data.
  • Design and manage efficient workflows for handling requests, fulfilment processes, and approval chains related to technology assets.
  • Track and tag all hardware assets meticulously while coordinating inbound reception activities with local smart hand partners across the APAC region.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on best practices in infrastructure inventory management by providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders.

What you bring:

  • A minimum of three to five years' professional experience in large-scale manufacturing or logistics environments; corporate or retail stockroom settings; technical retail sales; or direct inventory management roles is essential for this position.
  • At least two years' hands-on experience managing international logistics operations with strong familiarity regarding shipping processes as well as customs documentation requirements is required.
  • Proficiency using ticketing systems such as Jira alongside advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite-particularly Excel functions like VLOOKUPs or Pivot Tables-is necessary for effective performance.
  • Demonstrated expertise in IT asset management or infrastructure management roles where meticulous record-keeping was paramount is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software platforms (for example Great Plains or ReQlogic) would be considered advantageous but not mandatory.
