We are looking for a full-time Senior Medical Administration superstar that can join our dedicated and hardworking admin team that provide support to our Gastroenterology consultants over two private hospitals.

4 weeks Annual Leave (pro rata) + 1 extra paid week off over Christmas period.

The successful applicant will be working in a friendly working environment with great management support.

Key areas of responsibility include and are not limited to:-

  • Provide outstanding, empathetic, and confidential customer service to patients – telephone and face to face
  • Shared diary management along with admin team for 17 consultants including patient consults and theatre bookings
  • Provide intuitive administration support to allocated consultants including patient and referring doctor follow up, document management, patient correspondence and other duties when required.
  • Confidential medical record administration in accordance with business, hospital, and legislative procedures.
  • Preparation of medical and general administration documents including patient and medical correspondence and financial reports.
  • Liaise with medical professionals, suppliers, and hospital administration to arrange intra-hospital patients transfers, emergency patient admission and clinical equipment for specialists.
  • Process private medical billing, Medicare submissions and Queensland Workcover requirements.
  • Quality assurance for incoming referrals and when appropriate making necessary pre and post surgery appointments on behalf of the consultants.

Essential skills and attributes required:-

  • Must be well presented, empathetic, enthusiastic and a great team player
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years Medical Administrative experience
  • Have a professional manner with strong customer service focus
  • High level of organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of private health funds and Medicare billing
  • Ability to handle a large number of incoming calls and call backs
  • Strong computer skills
  • Understand the importance of patient confidentiality
  • Ability to learn and adapt to varied medical software programs

We are situated at the Greenslopes Private Hospital. However, occasional shifts may require travel to Mater Health Centre Redlands,  Weippin Street, Cleveland.
