Senior Legal Counsel, Property (Development/Affordable Housing) l 6 to 12 month FTC

We have a great contracting opportunity to undertake interesting work with an organisation making a difference.

About the role

We represent a client that is looking for a senior lawyer with a property skillset.

They are flexible on whether you join on either an initial 6 months or 12 month contract.

Reporting to the Director of Legal, you will be a trusted legal advisor and provide high quality legal advice.

You will need to be proactive, bring a can-do attitude and demonstrate a keen interest in providing solutions, including:

  • Providing legal advice in relation to property development matters, capital transactions, activities, dispute resolution and regulatory compliance.
  • Developing and structuring transactions.
  • Educating project teams and other business stakeholders on the legal aspects of the business' activities.
  • Managing external lawyers and probity advisors.
  • Assisting in the training and mentoring of lawyers and paralegals.

Requirements

  • Ideally 7+ years' post admission experience.
  • Significant experience in property and/or construction law; drafting and negotiating complex property and project documentation.
  • High-level written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence and engage with key stakeholders.
