Beacon Legal have partnered with an Australian real estate business in their search for a new Senior Legal Counsel. They are looking to hire someone at the 5-7 PQE level, to be based in their Sydney office.

We're seeking a proactive and motivated real estate or construction lawyer to support a dynamic and expanding legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of transactional and commercial legal matters and you will have the constant opportunity to further develop your skillset.

The General Counsel is an experienced leader in the space and has two other excellent lawyers working in the team, so you will have constant access to a high-performing, supportive and innovative team that plays a very important, and respected, role within the wider business.

About the Role

  • Lead and support on a wide range of commercial contracts, including acquisition and disposal agreements, leases, property development, bespoke agreements and more.
  • Advising on general real estate, construction, fund management, capital raising, corporate governance and compliance matters, including entity structures, management arrangements, equity and debt raising and financing arrangements.
  • Work closely with commercial stakeholders to support continued growth and business performance.
  • Manage engagement with an excellent external legal panel and use this as an opportunity to expand your legal knowledge.

What type of person will be successful?

  • Admitted as a lawyer in Australia.
  • Practising as a real estate or construction lawyer for 5-7 years in a top-tier law firm or in-house environment.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and self-motivated.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Thrives in dynamic and evolving environments.
