FMI Building Innovation is seeking an experienced and driven Financial Accountant to join our Glass Division in Noble Park, Victoria. This is a key role where you'll work closely with our Head of Glass – Victoria and Head of Finance – Australasia to maintain financial integrity, manage compliance, and provide insights to support commercial decisions across the business.

About the Role

You'll take ownership of the finance function in our Glass – Victoria division, with responsibilities spanning month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and overseeing AR/AP. You'll also lead a small finance team member (Accounts Receivable Officer) and support the broader operations and leadership teams with timely, accurate financial advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own month-end reporting including journals, balance sheet recs & management reports
  • Submit BAS, WorkCover, FBT, and other compliance reporting
  • Manage cash flow: daily reconciliations, forecasting & payments
  • Oversee and review AR/AP processes (hands-on when needed)
  • Support budgeting, reforecasting, and variance analysis
  • Ensure accurate, compliant financial records and internal controls
  • Lead and mentor the ARO and engage cross-functionally with other stakeholders

What You'll Bring

  • 3 years' experience in a Financial or Management Accountant role (preferably in manufacturing, industrial, or construction sectors)
  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
  • CPA or CA qualified (or working towards)
  • Strong understanding of Australian financial compliance and tax obligations
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
  • High attention to detail, solid analytical skills, and business acumen
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a group structure or multi-entity environment
  • Familiarity with ERP systems or SPIL-based platforms
  • A process improvement mindset and confidence working with operational teams
