Polite Playground: the creative and experiential agency that brings the fun to events through content creation and digital engagement, is seeking Photo Booth Operators & Photographers.
Born from a love of photography, events and Instagram, the Polite Playground team create live experiences that people get excited about, and use smart technology to capture and share them.
We are known for our innovative approach to briefs, and our expertise in delivering live amplification of content both pre, during and post event. We specialise in photo, GIF, video and gamification.
We work with emerging clients like Bumble, Instagram, Meta, and traditional ones such as Coca-Cola, MasterCard, ANZ, Microsoft, Virgin and Adidas.The Event Operations role is responsible for overseeing the Operations department on a national level, and ensuring all events and activations are executed flawlessly.
They are responsible for the efficient allocation of equipment, event staff and other resources, to drive profitability for the business and deliver the best output for clients.
Tasks may be a combination of office and field based work around Australia, including onsite as Event Producer. The position is for 38 hours per week, however flexibility is expected to ensure work days support the events calendar.

Resource & Tech Management
- Oversee the management of equipment and hardware inventory Australia wide
- Ensure the check in / check out processes at storage facilities nationally is efficient and reliable, make improvements where required
- Maintain an organised warehouse in all states (providing support and recommendations to Operations Managers)
- Maintain adequate stock levels of consumables and re-order as needed
Seek out competitive pricing for consumables and hire equipment
Ensure a high presentation of equipment onsite, make continual improvements
- Provide recommendations for the best hardware and/or software to utilize for each booking
- Maintain inventory on Airtable, updating as needed
- Identify cost savings and efficiencies for general equipment, consumables and hired items
Technical Support
- Possess a thorough knowledge of Polite Playground products
- Maintain a high level ability to troubleshoot issues
- Be fluent in understanding how the printers, laptops and software functions
- End to end testing of equipment and software before it is sent onsite
- Be available for assistance during events
- Monitor and manage event galleries and, photos etc to ensure they are consistent and of a high standard
- Ensure staff present equipment and products in the best possible way
- Train Ops Managers and Coordinators on how to efficiently provide technical support
- Equip the Casual Events team with the skills to capably manage most tech issues onsite
Staff - Operators
- Review and improve the training program from time to time
- Conduct training sessions at warehouse with new Operators
- Work alongside new staff onsite at events
- Recruit and train new staff locally and interstate
- Coordinate collection and return of equipment with staffing team and Account Management
- Continually improve resources for casual staff (training manuals, videos etc)
- Provide timely feedback on staff performance to AM / recruitment team
- Find cost efficiencies with Event staff - utilize Ops team, reduce onsite staff where possible etc
- Work with AM team to streamline Casual staff onboarding process, maintain staff documentation
On Site Event Management
- Act as key point of contact on site for larger scale events and follow approved processes
- Check in on staff during shifts periodically, with clear and succinct communication
- Oversee Work Health and Safety for the on-site team
- Assist AM team in preparing SWMS or Risk Assessments
Team Management & Liaison
- Act as direct report for Operations Managers and Coordinators
- Manage schedules with junior staff to ensure hours worked remain within contracted hours and don't exceed (reduce/eliminate TIL accruals)
- Provide ongoing training and development for junior staff to help them perform more efficiently in their role
- Ensure the wider team has an understanding of our products - conduct training as required / new team onboarding
- Assist Directors in recruiting new staff as required (Ops team)
- Manage upcoming pipeline of events and flag any issues with equipment and/or software (e.g. availability etc)
- Communicate red flags, provide recommendations on how best to fulfill a booking from an equipment, software and resourcing perspective
New Business
- Attend site visits with clients to discuss potential projects from a delivery POV
- Assist in sourcing quotes or providing recommendations for setups for new business proposals
- Seek out new software and/or hardware and review for suitability
- Continually identify more efficient ways of working and propose recommendations to Directors
