A rare and exciting opportunity is available to join the Strategic Planning Unit at Yarra City Council. Bring your strategic planning and leadership experience, high initiative and self-driven, can-do attitude and shape future use and development in some of Melbourne's most livable, interesting and historic areas.

With a multitude of planning issues to influence and a challenging work programme, this is a great opportunity to enhance your skills leading an exciting and varied range of high profile and complex planning projects and guide project team members.

In addition to leading projects, you will work with the City Strategy leadership team to develop, coordinate and deliver a program of strategic planning projects that supports Council's objectives.

We believe success comes from developing individuals and encouraging teamwork. You will have work life balance while working with others who want to make a difference.

We are looking for a strategic planner with extensive experience who can demonstrate:

  • Substantial experience in strategic planning and policy development
  • Strong project management skills and delivery
  • Being a collaborative worker and open communicator to lead and mentor project staff and foster a supportive working environment
