As Academic Programs Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of the Faculty of Education's coursework programs. Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, you will coordinate key academic program administration activities, from subject set-up and timetabling to student results processing, scholarships, and committee support. This dynamic role offers variety, with portfolio responsibilities shifting in response to operational needs, giving you the opportunity to develop expertise across multiple areas of academic administration. With a focus on accuracy, service excellence, and compliance with University policy, you will be a trusted point of contact for staff and students, helping to create a seamless teaching and learning experience across the faculty.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating academic program administration – overseeing subject set-up, timetabling processes, workload activities, and finance-related tasks to ensure seamless program delivery.

  • Supporting assessment and student progress processes – managing results processing, Board of Examiners meetings, and faculty-level processes for special consideration, extensions, academic progress, and academic misconduct in line with policy.

  • Administering scholarships and student opportunities – coordinating scholarships, awards, sponsorships, and specialist coursework subjects, including communications, records, and liaison with key stakeholders.
  • Providing high-quality service and advice – responding to academic and student enquiries, supporting faculty committees, and delivering clear guidance on academic programs and policies.

You will also:

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced use of Excel, and the ability to learn and navigate University systems and databases.
  • Possess well-developed organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear documentation and reports.
