About the Role

The Senior Practice Coach role is responsible for leading the development and execution of targeted projects that aim to improve staff knowledge and practice interventions across the new Family Caring for Family program. The role combines a level of systems activities, higher level practice responsibilities, and staff coaching that aims to build the nuanced and accountable ways of working with families and young people to ensure community quality and impact. The role works closely with front-line staff in delivering in-field side-by-side coaching to scaffold staff development, while also leading all quality compliance and acute client risk management.

The Senior Practice Coach (Family Caring for Family) role operates in the management team of the Community Services branch at ATSICHS. As a practice leader at ATSICHS, we believe in leading teams through showing and doing, not delegating and micro-managing. We utilise a coaching approach that supports staff to achieve excellence with clients through side-by-side in-field mentoring and coaching, growing staff practice skills, professionalism, stakeholder influencing, and personal organisation. As a practice leader, we are focused on client impact above anything else.

Duties

At the direction of Manager/Team Leader, lead the development and project management of targeted improvements in staff workflow cycles in the DMOC, based on best practice research and reviewing implementation of phases with staff and personal case loads.

At the direction of Manager/Team Leader, lead the structured development of Scribe videos of the CRM system, outlining step-by-step guides for staff DMOC guides.

Lead the development and implementation of an annual training and development plan, focused on improving staff practice skills, stakeholder engagement, professionalism, and conflict medication. Develop a schedule of training that aligns with practice evidence-based skills gap across the kindergarten teams.

Provide a comprehensive assessment of staff pedagogy and work practices, tailoring solutions and coaching on evidenced assessment.

Meet the mandatory reporting requirements for child safety incidents, supporting staff and endorsing approvals within specified timeframe, as per ATSICHS policy.

Assist in the development and ongoing refinement of the FC4F Program Logic, adjusting measures against new changes in the DMOC.

Systematise and digitise case management operations to improve data tracking and monitoring of quality deliverables.

Skills and Experiences:

COVID - 19 Requirements

  • Immunisation history showing you have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine is encouraged.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant social services field with at least 4 years case management experience in family support, child protection, youth support, housing or related field.

OR

  • Diploma in relevant Community/Services field with at least 6 years in a case management role in family support, child protection, youth support, housing or related field.

AND

  • Demonstrated ability to apply and critique child safety and social work theoretical frameworks or practice, implementing client interventions based upon scaffolding client self-awareness, agency, and empowered sustainable behaviour change interventions.
  • Ability to critique and problem solve related legislative gray zones, while managing organisational and child harm risks. Demonstrated ability to integrate knowledge across different business units, ensuring the fair treatment and voices of family's are promoted, while managing child harm risks.
  • Ability to support staff in applying sound social service and child protection practice reasonings to influence stakeholders (Youth Justice, Child Safety, Schools, Hospitals etc.). Motivate a strong team working culture and sustain behaviour change by influencing others.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect numerous internal ATSICHS programs and services to activate wrap-around care for families, trading-off and negotiating resources across the organisation and between other teams to achieve client impact.
  • Problem solve general operational policies with autonomous decision making to enact client impact, adhering to client risk, safety, and quality standards.

Desirable

  • Previous experience or transferrable skills related to project management is desirable, or willingness to attend specialist project management training.

Additional Requirement

  • Requirement to travel across the Logan and/or Brisbane region, as per program location.
  • Current drivers' licence.
  • Evidence of Work Rights.
  • Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to apply.
  • Travel between work sites on a regular basis.
