Job Description

We're seeking experienced planners to join our Biodiversity Planning team.

  • Principal Planner – Biodiversity
  • Senior Planner – Biodiversity

This is a unique opportunity to work on projects that protect and enhance biodiversity in the region.

About the Roles

  • As a Principal Planner, you'll lead complex projects, providing high-level technical expertise and influencing key strategies and policies.
  • As a Senior Planner, you'll take ownership of moderate-to-complex projects, collaborating with a supportive team to deliver practical planning solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver biodiversity and environmental planning projects with measurable outcomes.
  • Provide specialist technical advice in line with relevant planning frameworks and legislation.
  • Support or lead the development and integration of strategies and policies.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in community consultations and forums.
  • Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of biodiversity, environmental, or strategic planning (preferably in QLD).
  • Experience in project delivery – moderate for the Senior role, complex for the Principal role.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and manage competing priorities.
  • Degree in Planning, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence.
  • Ability to meet compliance requirements, including police checks and reference checks.
