Medical Receptionist / Marketing Assistant Role

Casual (with the potential to grow into a part-time role)

INTRODUCTION

East Ryde Doctors is seeking a highly capable and reliable team member to join our busy practice. This is a dual-role position that combines front-of-house reception duties with marketing and content coordination. We are looking for someone who is professional, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about contributing to both patient care and practice growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reception & Administration

  • Ensuring the clinic runs like clock work, by not just ticking a task box - but take ownership.
  • Greet patients and visitors with warmth, professionalism, and efficiency.
  • Manage patient bookings, billing, recalls, and appointment enquiries.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold high standards of customer service.
  • Assist with daily administration, inbox management, and accurate data entry.
  • Ensure the reception area is organised and reflects a welcoming environment.

Marketing & Communications

  • Coordinate and maintain the practice marketing calendar.
  • Assist with the planning, filming, editing, and posting of social media content.
  • Support development of digital and print communications (emails, flyers, website updates).
  • Identify opportunities to promote services and events within the community.

Team Contribution

  • Follow systems and processes with accuracy.
  • Demonstrate initiative by anticipating needs, offering solutions, and adding value.
  • Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, and reception colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Display reliability and flexibility, with a willingness to take on new responsibilities as the role evolves.

To be considered for this role the following skills and experience are desired:

• Experience using a medical software program

• Able to provide exceptional customer service experience at all times

• Experience within a busy receptionist role would be ideal, although if you're a star in your current role and willing to learn, then you will be considered

• Professional presentation and communication skills

• Ability to multitask

• Eligible to work legally in Australia. 

• Proficient computer skills including the use of Microsoft word, Excel and Outlook email, plus canva, capcut, instagram etc 

• Current CPR certificate

Please Note

  • Personality and attitude matter most, we'll provide training for the right person.
  • Employment is subject to satisfactory checks and referee reports (please have two referees and one written reference ready).
  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 48 hours for a phone interview.
  • Hourly rate will depend on experience and qualifications.
  • Hours are weekdays 8am–6pm and Saturdays 8:30am–12:30pm, with some flexibility needed for occasional overtime or leave cover.
