About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to work as our Marketing Events Specialist. This is a full-time, ongoing opportunity based at our Box Hill Campus. This position reports directly to the Marketing Events Manager and sits within the Marketing area of the Student Experience division.

The Marketing Events Specialist is responsible for leading the development, management, and implementation of event projects that support student acquisition and retention, build engagement, drive positive brand sentiment and coherently representing the BHI value proposition, amongst a diverse group of stakeholders.

The position also leads the development, management and delivery of wider BHI events including employee engagement projects and corporate events under the supervision of the Marketing Events Manager.

The Events Specialist is a member of the Marketing team and works collaboratively with all members of the broader Marketing team. This role is a pivotal link between faculties and business areas across BHI.

The Marketing Events team, is responsible for the project management and delivery of over 50 events annually, across multiple campuses and locations.

What you'll do:

  • Assist with the project management, planning and delivery of over 50 events and projects per calendar year.
  • Be responsible for the execution of a range of events to include student and employee award presentations, graduation ceremonies, cultural days, fundraising dinners, fashion shows, career expos, recruitment events and workshops for students and employees
  • Adhere to administrative and communication processes to produce detailed event documentation and briefings for project delivery
  • Budget management
  • Coordinate and deliver events from end-to-end including the delegation of tasks and responsibilities on the day and providing on-the-ground support to ensure events run seamlessly
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder and supplier relationships

About you:

  • You are someone who loves juggling multiple events simultaneously, is process-driven, shows initiative and has exceptional attention-to-detail.
  • You know how to combine your administrative skills with your creativity to deliver unique, engaging and successful event experiences.
  • You enjoy building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders using your excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • You are also a team player who holds a high level of accountability and has a drive to lead and support your colleagues in their work.
  • You enjoy the challenge of working with multiple stakeholders to deliver projects and can demonstrate flexibility, adaptability and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications and experience:

  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Event Management or lesser qualifications with substantial experience in marketing and events
  • Demonstrated experience in the event industry
  • Exceptional organisational skills, high attention-to-detail and an eye for accuracy
  • Proven experience in multi-tasking, prioritising workload and managing the planning and delivery of multiple events simultaneously
  • Experience coordinating, delegating and leading on-the-ground teams at events
  • High level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in preparing high-quality, accurate correspondence and reports to stakeholders
  • Experience in working collaboratively as part of a team to achieve team goals
  • Flexibility during peak periods, and ability to adapt to changing priorities is essential
  • Victorian Working with Children Check clearance
  • National Police Check clearance
  • Proficiency in all MS Office applications for a range of tasks including but not limited to, generating briefings, event reports and presentations and database management
